Interdisciplinary training intended for providers of all disciplines
working with infants and families in the NICU to home transition.
Presenters: Leslie Butterfield, PhD; Sara Circelli, PMH-C, IMH-E; Tiffany Elliott, MS, CCC-SLP, CNT, IBCLC, NTMTC; Molly Nolan-Jones, MS, OTR/L, CLE, IMH-E®; Mari Mazon, MS, RDN, CD; Mia Edidin, LICSW; and parents to share lived experience.
Course Description: Hosted by Northwest Center Kids, the Hospital-to-Home™ three day training is an interdisciplinary 3-day training that instructs providers on supporting the specific mental health, feeding, and nutrition care needs of infants and caregivers transitioning from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to home. While NICU infants are at high risk for feeding and growth concerns, their caregivers are also at significant risk of experiencing Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). Research shows high-risk infants have better outcomes transitioning out of the NICU when they receive quality therapy in the home shortly after discharge. This training helps build the workforce capacity to holistically support infants and families in the hospital-to-home transition.
Who would Benefit from this Training: Early Intervention providers (including OTs, PTs, SLPs, FRCs, TCVI, DHH), home visitors, community mental health providers, WIC, postpartum doulas, lactation consultants, peer counselors and others supporting infants and families!
Note: Please plan to attend live for all three dates in this series. Per WA state law, sales tax will be added as applicable.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide recordings of the session. We will be recording for administrative purposes but we cannot share it out given that we want to respect the confidentiality of participants.
-
Please see the agenda on the program site. We will also briefly review it at the start of each session. Sessions are intended to be very interactive so your participation is greatly encouraged. There are no silly questions or ideas, we are ALL teachers and learners in this environment.
Meeting etiquette:

Video on if possible.

The anonymized cases are brought from participants. We need your help! Please reach out about a case you could potentially present at a future session. We can meet with you beforehand to discuss your case and how to present it to ensure that you are comfortable and feel well-supported. We have a template to use.
In previous ECHOs, participants presented on cases that they felt were successful, ones that they had real-time questions about how to best support, and instances where they felt unsuccessful and wanted an opportunity to reflect with others. All of these types of cases are valuable and provide wonderful learning opportunities.
-
Please fill out the post-session evaluation form. We need to share the impact of these sessions with our funder so these post-session evaluations ensure we can continue to provide these learning opportunities. We also want to make changes that best meet the needs of participants so feedback is welcome!
Materials will be uploaded to the iECHO site for you to download, including notes from the discussion.
